Any new content coming to Xenoblade Chronicles 2? Something unique?
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has had some big updates since its launch last December. It’s added a Game Plus Mode, new Blades to collect, and many, many refinements to the gameplay and world system. But later this week, it’s going to get a whole new mode via Challenge Mode. In this mode, Rex and team will get to test their mettle against different battles given to them by a Nopon Archsage.
The mode looks to be quite interesting, but that’s not the limit of the new things in the mode. For two new Blades will be added to it in the forms of Shulk and Fiora from Xenoblade Chronicles. As Blades, they can be attached to any member of the party, and Shulk will be able to use the Monado just like he does in his game and in Smash Bros.
There’s also a nifty cutscene that’ll play to show how Rex and Shulk meet. It should be noted that this mode is only available to those who have the Expansion Pass.
This is on top of the story DLC that was revealed earlier this week in “Torna – The Golden Country”, and proves that Nintendo has a vested interest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. No doubt leading to more hopes of a sequel in the future.
